So much to see

The Shearer's Retreat was set up as a way to share the special place PenHill is. To give others the opportunity to enjoy the wild areas, the grand vistas over the Towy Valley, the variety of wildlife and the serenity which comes with it.

Off site, there are many wonderful place to visit and things to enjoy. Carmarthenshire enjoys a number of monikers, such as the Garden County of Wales, and the Bread basket of Wales. The names reflect the rich growing nature of the area, the lush green pastures and woodlands. It also has miles of coastline, and mountainous ranges.

Carmarthenshire is culturally rich,  here the Welsh languages thrives, and traditional industries, farming, forestry and fishing, along with the tourism, are the main industries.

As well as being quieter than its touristy neighbours,  Carmarthenshire, with its good transport links, is easy to get to which makes it an ideal place to be based to explore the delights of Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire , the Gower and Brecknockshire home of the Brecon Beacons .
